Database TechnicianThe Database Technician (DBT) must be skilled with data entry, data quality control, database management, data development, and SQL language. They must demonstrate an ability to work with development teams to assist with the Quality Assurance of application development, testing, and migration into production services. Working with local users and department teams, the DBT supports applications within the life cycle of the product providing technical support to staff with standard business operations to upload, manage and access their data stored in these systems.Under the guidance of the Senior Database Administrator and Database Administrators, the Database Technician provides day-to-day support for troubleshooting and special configurations for supported products. The DBT will perform the upgrades, patches and release deployment for the various instances within the TBR development framework. Operating as an extension of the Database Administrator, the Database Technician will provide backup and support for all database-related activity and integration of the ERP system.This position offers the opportunity to work remotely with the occasional need to travel to the Central office for in person meetings.Responsibilities:Basic operation of Oracle and/or other SQL based database systems including upgrading, patching, installation and configuration, and backup and recovery operations. Basic operation of WebLogic and/or Tomcat application servers including upgrading, patching, installation and configuration, and application deployments.Provide support to end users as needed with database issues, troubleshooting and special configurations in response to the ERP development team and DBA.Application upgrades and reconfiguration based on application life cycle and product requirements. Cloning and deployment of alternative databases for testing, non-production and release quality assurance.Documentation of changes to the ERP application environment, Database server configurations, application server configuration, and connected third party application configurations.Quality assurance for new releases and packaging of application-specific patches, upgrades and bolt-on procedures applied to the ERP and other third party applications.Shell programming to automate existing processes, procedures or functions related to the ERP and/or third party applications.Perform other tasks as assigned
