DescriptionResearch Analyst IRole Summary:Under direct supervision, provide support for social, economic or health related research ; assist in investigating, gathering, assessing, and clarifying data; record and distribute information; assist in general laboratory maintenance and inventory control. Key skills, experience or knowledge:* Knowledge of medical terminology* Exhibits great attention to detail and possesses organizational skills* Experience working with electronic medical record systems, such as Epic* Experience with statistical coding and working with health- related data* Experience using various statistical software (e.g.- SAS, R, Stata)Department Summary:The Vanderbilt Department of Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases is dedicated to enhancing prevention and treatment of infectious diseases through discovery and application of new knowledge that is seamlessly integrated with mentoring trainees to become the next generation of national leaders in the field. Clinical and research program strengths include HIV medicine, mycobacterial infections, and infectious diseases in transplantation recipients. Epidemiology and patient oriented research initiatives are flourishing in drug and vaccine development (for HIV, tuberculosis, and other pathogens), hospital epidemiology, and emerging/re-emerging infections.
