Work Activities:
Oversee the data ingestion from source agency to P20 database
Facilitate multi-user level access within the database
Monitor database efficiency and make suggestions to Partner Agency staff on improvements to system
Develop protocols for data processing – schedules, types of data, data owner, and data confirmations
Assisting the data scientist developing complex query definitions that allow data to be analyzed and understood
Be innovated and forward-thinking in developing a strategy and creating an algorithm to find predictive trends and relationships in the data
Assist the data scientist in the development of applications within the database that support the accessibility of the data by users with differing levels of knowledge and experience analyzing data
Follow data privacy and security protocol standards
Stay updated with new database technologies and analyze to bring into scope of existing database infrastructure
Supervise installation, migration, patching, backups, and upgrade of database
Prepare reports on database scalability and capacity planning, as needed
Identify and resolve database issues related to performance and capacity
Develop best practices for performance and operational efficiency
Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and quality
Perform backups, prevent data loss, and implement disaster recovery plan
Required Experience:
Experience with designing data architecture comprised of multiple complex data sets
Experience with advising teams of database administrators and application developers in designing, implementing or revising data structures following defined standards and procedures, or performs complex database or application data architecture work of exceptional difficulty
Experience in the development of templates and processes for delivering data within the enterprise
Experience with Data Security to determine required components to ensure data privacy and security are maintained throughout the data lifecycle
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to assist in communications with data science, business management, and technical development and operations.
Demonstrated experience in translating business strategies, across several business units, into roadmaps, architectures, and technical standards
Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
Must have a B.S. or equivalent, in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or related field
Must have at least 5 years experience in progressively responsible job-related experience, with minimum of 2 years related to business intelligence and analytics
